videotrowbridge
VideoTrowbridge is Trowbridge and the Surrounding Area’s own On-line On-demand TV channel. Run by MidWilts Video Society for the benefit of the people of Trowbridge and the surrounding area. It is also becoming an archive of life in the area. How it started For many years now members of the society have been chronicling the events, people and places of Trowbridge and the surrounding area and felt it would be good to make these videos more readily available to the people of the area. Video Trowbridge acts as a portal to allow an organized access to these videos. We welcome and already include contributions from others and hope that we may build up a resource for the locality which will provide enjoyment, information and an archive of local history as it is made. We welcome videos that promote local organizations and enterprises and hope those holding events will realize the website’s value, not only to record those events but also to advertise them through video trailers. We hope the website will grow to include all aspects of local life and the local environment. Including creativity of all types; we would welcome videos about creators, designers and artists about themselves and their work; these could be simple slide shows or more sophisticated and, of course include music videos. Video making itself will be one of the creative areas we shall support and welcome all types of locally made videos including video art and video poetry. Put your videos on YouTube or Vimeo and send us the URL Providing members of the community the opportunity to bring their activities to the attention to the rest of the local community is one of the aims of Video Trowbridge. There will be a local organizations page where organizations can give some information about themselves including an image or video and provide a link to their website or give a contact. We would welcome videos about local artists, craftspeople and performers of all types. Visual artists might be interested in making simple slide shows of their work. YouTube now allows the direct uploading of slides into a slideshow. It really is very simple but if you need help there is a good instructional video: https://youtu.be/SEIxD-8nR84 We look forward to hearing from you |
